Ingredients

1 package pizza dough by Gastronomia Piccinini
10 ounces (300 gr.) tomato puree or crushed canned tomatoes
2 fresh mozzarella balls, sliced and drained
5-6 leaves fresh basil
5-6 cherry tomatoes, cut in two
1 garlic clove, crushed (optional)
2 tbs EVO oil
1 tsp dried oregano

Products used

  1. Get the pizza dough out of its bag leave it at room temperature for at least one hour.
  2. Prepare a tomato sauce simmering the garlic in 1 tbs olive oil, add tomatoes, a pinch of salt and a couple basil leaves, cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Spread out dough into two 12-inch round trays, let it rest for 30 minutes covered with a cloth.
  4. Spread tomato sauce onto the dough and bake it in a pre-heated oven at 420 F for 15 minutes.
  5. Get pizza out and add mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, oregano.
  6. Bake for an additional 10 minutes, finish pizza with more fresh basil and a drizzle of oil.

Serve with a nice cold beer.
